John Hawks

The John Hawks Anthropology Weblog reports new research and perspectives in evolutionary anthropology and genetics. With several short posts and essays weekly, it serves as a clearinghouse of information both within and outside the field. The blog has a readership of 20000 unique visitors each month, from 95 countries, and is widely linked and cited. Essays by John Hawks have appeared in local newspapers and the journal Slate, centered on the teaching of evolution in public schools and the application of genetic technology to genealogical research. Additionally, he participates in the
Evolution Initiative at UW-Madison, helping to broaden the scope of the
university's outreach efforts in evolutionary biology.
