Brief Elaborations
of
Monica L. Smith I am the coordinator for the South Asian archaeological laboratory in the UCLA Cotsen Institute of Archaeology, and each year we participate in the Cotsen's Open House where we have public visitors ranging from elementary school students to our colleagues in other university departments. On the web site for my research project in India, I have posted some "journals from the field" written for a general audience: http://www.ioa.ucla.edu/staff/smith/MLSmith5.html#Updates . I have also written popular articles on the historical archaeology of the American Southwest (in The Peopling of Bandelier, R. Powers ed. 2005, SAR Press) and on the impact of heritage tourism in South Asia.
